Design and Portability

In terms of design, its simple, sturdy and safe. This truly is a lightweight e-scooter at 12 kg (28 lb).

But don't worry, you won’t be carrying it much because of the two trolley wheels that make transporting the scooter easy. Simply fold it up and tow it like a suitcase.

The Glion Dolly is lightweight but built for rough use. The aircraft-grade powder-coated aluminium body is resistant to extreme weather and it has a load capacity of 115 kg (255 lb).

Controlled this e-scooter is also simple. Twisting the right handle activates the acceleration and the left one controls the brakes. The LED display in the middle of the handlebar shows the amount of juice left in the battery.

Speed, Distance, and Battery

The 250-watt brushless motor offers the scooter a maximum speed of 24 kph (15 mph). Coupled with the 36V Li-ion battery, the scooter can travel the up to 24 km (15 miles) on a single charge. The battery can be plugged into any wall outlet and charged in 3.5 hours.

The Brake System

The Glion Dolly electric scooter comes with military developed 20.3 cm (8”) honeycomb tyres. The tyres are airless; hence flat tyres are out of the question. The honeycomb interior of the tyres is also maintenance-free.

The brake system is smooth, reliable, and easy to use. The anti-lock electronic brake is in the hub motor in the rear part of the e-scooter. To slow down simply twist the left handle on the handlebar.

Certification and Safety

We couldn’t find any information on certification, but the company claims to use a patented scooter design.

Under low-light conditions, the front light and the built-in rear reflector are the main safety features. The e-scooter also comes with a bell to get the attention of other riders or pedestrians.

Riding experience

The Glion Dolly e-scooter performs well on smooth surfaces such as paved roads and walkways. It's clearly made as a city commuter electric scooter.

Riding on rough terrain is more troublesome and should be avoided if possible. While this scooter can be ridden on short grass and bumpy terrain, it's not where it excels. So don't expect peak performance.

An additional cool feature of the Glion Dolly is that it holds its own as a non-electric scooter too. So if you ever find yourself away from home with a dead battery, simply push your way home.

Final Thoughts

Overall the Glion Dolly is a high-performing electric scooter. But it's not the best we've seen. For city commuters who need something light and portable, it's worth considering.

It's compact and lightweight, and truly portable - unlike other e-scooters. The Glion Dolly's standout feature is its ability to be towed like a suitcase when not in use. We have seen another scooter that offers this.

The Glion Dolly negatives are poor suspension (most likely due to the solid tyres) and a hefty price tag.

But with all things considered, we believe the Glion Dolly Foldable Lightweight electric scooter has earned the overall rating of 8.5/10.
